Last night...

This is what I was writing last night, but there was a problem with Blogger, so I couldn't publish it...

I’m sitting here sipping a large diet coke from McDonald’s. They now have any size of pop on for $1.00. There’s just something about fountain pop that hits the spot. I went through the drive-thru this evening and ordered two. When I got to the pick-up window, he only gave me medium. I said no, I want the big ones. It’s good to be Mennonite.

Jorja had some wicked gas this evening. She was letting them rip left, right and center. She has been going to bed once Ginny is asleep lately (it seems to work better than at the same time), and I usually carry her up. For such a little person, she is a very noisy stepper. Anyway, I not sooner get her picked up and put my arm under her bum than she lets this big, loud, long ripper go. Right on my arm. And stinky. Boy, did she think she was pretty funny.

We had a bit of a scare today. CeCe was laying on the floor playing with her little ‘gym’ thing (there’s toys over her head she can bat at and chew on). Ginny was walking and tripped and fell on her arm/shoulder area. I’ve never heard CeCe cry like that before – she was definitely in pain. Then Ginny started wailing because CeCe was crying. Eventually everyone calmed down, and CeCe seems to be all right. It’s a good thing they’re made of rubber when they’re young.

Jorja has been on this kick the last couple of days. Maybe it started yesterday. She said, “Dad, I’m going to live here forever when I’m big. I just love it so much.” Say what? I try to explain how things work, but she’s not going for it. She even told Julie that she would have to share her clothes when she grew up. I wish I could have taped that for when she is a teenager. Then we’ll see how long she wants to live here. Later.

Snow

Well, tonight was supposed to be Jorja's first soccer practice. But it's been snowing here all day. The ground is now white. What is up with that?

Are farts innately funny? It seems that the girls have found them funny right from the start. Today after supper, I was getting ready to wipe Ginny up before she left the table. I usually swing her chair with the booster seat out, so she is looking right at me. Well today, I move her chair, she looks me right in the eye, pushes her right arm down on the arm rest to lift her cheek, and proceeds to let out this loud ripper. What was I going to do? There was no way I could keep a straight face over that.

Bedtime continues to be an issue - it appears the stickers are not incentive enough for Ginny. How can kids be so cute and funny one minute, and so frustrating the next.

The girls are booked in for hair cuts in the morning tomorrow. We took Jorja to this stylist once before, and she was great with her, so we thought we'd try it again. Ginny has never had a hair cut, not even a trim, so we'll see how that goes. It should be all right. For how rough and tumble she is, she really likes the girly stuff too.

Anyhow, I am sooo ready for this weather to turn. We are all beginning to go a bit stir crazy here. Later.

Cuts, bumps and bruises

Today was kind of a rough day for the girls. It started this morning when Ginny went running though the kitchen, attempted the corner to go upstairs, and didn't make it. Her forehead hit the corner of the steps, and instantly swelled up and almost split open. There was a line down the middle probably a centimeter and a half long that almost cut through. I think we would have been heading for stitches. Needless to say there were a lot of tears. Jorja is such a little mother, she does not like seeing her sister hurt. Ginny was jumping around shortly after, but it looks nasty.

Jorja took her turn just before lunch when her and Julie went to check the mail. She wiped out and skinned her knee and another spot just above her foot. I think there was more wailing from her when the band aids had to come off in the tub.

I was carrying Ginny this evening and she says to me, "Don't touch my fart." What!? How or why would I want to touch her fart I say. She replies, "It's in my butt."
